Early life and education
She was born in Accra and hails from Shai Osudoku in the Greater Accra Region and Akropong-Akuapem in the Eastern Region. Gloria Akuffo earned a B.A. (Hons) in Law and Political Science from the University of Ghana in 1979. She enrolled at the Ghana Bar Association in 1982 and later became a barrister and solicitor at the Supreme Court of Judicature in Ghana.

Called to the Bar
After finishing her legal education at the Ghana School of Law, Gloria Akuffo was admitted to the Ghana Bar in 1982. She next joined the law office of Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co., where she spent several years as an Associate and developed a reputation as an accomplished and meticulous attorney.
2001
Deputy Attorney General
Former President John Kufuor selected Gloria Akuffo to serve as deputy attorney general and minister of justice. She was in charge of counseling the government on legal issues and defending the government in court battles in this capacity. She held this position until 2005 and received high praise for it.

Appointment as Attorney General
The current president of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, selected Gloria Akuffo to serve as attorney general and minister of justice. She is in charge of managing the government's legal affairs and advising the president on legal issues in this capacity. She has received accolades for her performance in this position, especially for her initiatives to reduce corruption and increase government transparency.
