Gifty Anti

Oheneyere Gifty Anti, is a Ghanaian journalist, TV personality, and the founder of the Girl in Need Foundation

Early life

Oheneyere Gifty Anti, was born on January 23, 1970, originally from Cape Coast in the Central Region, but was born and raised in Tema, located in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. She is the youngest of eight siblings.

Education

Gifty Anti completed her basic education at Tema Community 8 "Number 1" Basic School before advancing to Mfantsiman Girls Secondary School. She later attended the Ghana Institute of Journalism. Additionally, she earned a Master’s Degree in International Journalism from City University in London.

Pathway into the media

Gifty Anti began her media career as an intern at the Ghana News Agency, followed by another internship at the Ghanaian Times. She later joined the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) as an intern, where she also completed her national service. Her first official role was as a Floor Manager at GTV, after which she transitioned into roles as a TV presenter, coach, gender advocate, and feminist.

Here are some of the notable honours and accolades received by Gifty Anti:  Tell It Moms Exemplary Resilience Feminist Honour (2019), National Malaria Advocate, Most Inspiring Woman in Media, Most Influential Woman, United Nations MDGs 4 & 5 Ambassador Award (2012), The African Women in Leadership Organisation’s Excellence Award.

 

Personal life

Gifty Anti is married to Nana Ansah Kwao IV, the Chief of Akwamu Adumasa. Their wedding ceremony took place on October 25, 2015, at the Trinity Baptist Church. On August 11, 2017, she welcomed her first child, a daughter named Nyame Anuonyam. Gifty often expresses immense pride and joy in having her child, especially at her age. She was honoured with a Fellowship of the Boardroom Institute (FBI) by the Accra Business School, earning her the title Oheneyere FBI Dr. Gifty Anti.

Career

Currently, Gifty serves as the Chief Executive Officer of GDA Concept and hosts The Standpoint, a talk show focused on women's issues.
