Lord Kenya

Abraham Philip Akpor Kojo also known as "Lord Kenya", is a former Ghanaian Hiplife artist who is currently an Evangelist.

Early Musical Aspirations and Breakthrough (1995 - 2000)

At the age of 17, Lord Kenya began his journey to become a professional musician. A performance at his father's birthday party revealed his talent and convinced his parents of his musical potential. He joined Slip Music and released his debut album, "Sika Card," which became a nationwide hit. In 1999, he released his second album, "Sika Baa," which was nominated as Rap Music of the Year at the first Ghana Music Awards.

Rise to Fame (2000 - 2008)

In the year 2000, he won the best Ghanaian Rap Music Award of the Anansekrom Festival in Canada. The following year in 2001, he won the Hiplife Album of the year at the Ghana Music Awards. At the 2002 edition of the Ghana Music Awards, he cemented his status in the music industry by winning the artiste of the year award. During his career as a hiplife artiste, he released albums like Sika Card, Sika Baa, Yeesom Sika, Sika Mpo Fane Ho, Akasieni, Born Again and God Dey.

Conversion to Evangelism (2010 - Present)

In 2010 Lord Kenya had a profound encounter with the Holy Spirit and decided to convert to Christianity, leaving behind his hiplife career. In 2011, he launched his Gospel album "Christlife." In subsequent years, he became the leader of the Face of Grace Covenant Temple at Ahodwo in Kumasi. He also renounced the rights to his hiplife albums and chose not to claim any royalties from them. The switch to evangelism was challenging, especially regarding his financial status, but he found happiness and fulfillment in his new life, believing it would save his soul.
