John Dumelo

John Dumelo was born on February 3, 1984, in Accra, Ghana

John Dumelo received his primary education at Christ the King School, excelled in the Drama Club and won the Fliers Guy in Mo-TOWN prize during his time at Achimota School, pursued a degree in Civil Engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and further expanded his knowledge and skills at the School of Public Service and Governance at GIMPA.

Dumelo's acting journey started at the age of seven when he landed his first role in the 1991 movie "Baby Thief," which marked the beginning of his career in the entertainment industry.

John Dumelo has also established himself as an entrepreneur with the launch of his clothing line, J.Melo, in 2012. Additionally, he has displayed a passion for agriculture, engaging in crop farming and animal husbandry, contributing to the sector and advocating for sustainable practices.

John Dumelo is happily married to Gifty Mawunya Nkornu. Their wedding was a grand celebration held at the Royal Senchi Resort in Akosombo. The couple welcomed their first child, a son, on October 16, 2018. They named him John Dumelo Jnr. in honor of his father.

John Dumelo's involvement in the NDC Government's campaigns and his appointment as the Director of Operations for a pro-NDC youth group highlighted his dedication to the party. Although he lost the parliamentary elections in 2020, his foray into politics demonstrated his commitment to public service and his focus on youth development in his constituency.

In October 2023, Dumelo committed to walking "backward barefoot from the UG main gate to Presec main gate" if Presec-Legon emerged victorious in the National Science and Maths Quiz, and he fulfilled his promise following their win.
