Bryan Acheampong

This is the timeline of the member of parliament for Abetifi Constituency


His educational journey began at Achimota Primary School and continued to the prestigious Presbyterian Boys Secondary School in Legon. Later, he pursued higher education in the United States, earning a Bachelor's degree and an MBA in Business Administration from Johnson and Wales University. Currently, he is a PhD candidate in Information Systems at the University of Ghana, demonstrating his commitment to lifelong learning.

Political Career

Hon. Bryan Acheampong's political journey started when he became a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). He successfully contested and won the Abetifi Constituency parliamentary seat in the 2016 Ghanaian general election, securing 74.61% of the total votes cast. He repeated this victory in the 2020 election with 72.42% of the total votes. 

Government Roles

Hon. Acheampong was appointed as the Minister of State at the Ministry of Interior from February 2019 to 2020. 

Committee Engagements

Within Ghana's parliament, Hon. Bryan Acheampong plays an active role in several committees. He serves as the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee and is a member of the Defense and Interior Committee, the Appointments Committee, and the Committee of Selection Committee.

Recognition and Honors

Hon. Bryan Acheampong's contributions have not gone unnoticed. He was lauded by the management of Kasapreko Company Limited for his support against the COVID-19 pandemic. The Ghana National Association of Teachers also honored him for providing scholarships to their members in the Kwahu East District in August 2021.

Minister for Agriculture

In 2023, his nomination as Minister of Agriculture was affirmed by parliament, replacing Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.
