Nana Asor Nkrawiri II

Nana Asor Nkrawiri II, known in private life as Christian Osei Kwakye, was an educationist and a traditional ruler until his passing in July 2022. 

Family and Leadership

A devoted family man, Nana Asor Nkrawiri II was married to Martha Adjei Nyarko and Janet Abena Mansah, and together they raised nine children. Under his leadership, the Sunyani stool was elevated to paramountcy in 1989, symbolizing his enduring commitment to his community's growth and prosperity.

Development Initiatives

Nana Asor Nkrawiri II spearheaded numerous development projects during his tenure. Notable among these were the construction of the Regional Hospital, subsequently upgraded to a teaching hospital, and the establishment of the Nana Bosoma Market, now one of the region's largest markets. His visionary leadership laid the foundation for prosperity and progress in Sunyani.

Environmental Advocacy

Recognizing the importance of environmental sustainability, Nana Asor Nkrawiri II collaborated closely with the Sunyani Municipal Assembly to enhance sanitation within the township. His efforts resulted in Sunyani being hailed as one of Ghana's cleanest cities on multiple occasions, a testament to his commitment to the well-being of his constituents.

Dedication to Education

A seasoned educator, Nana Asor Nkrawiri II's contributions extended beyond traditional governance. He served as a teacher at institutions including Berekum College of Education, Dormaa Senior High School, and Sunyani Secondary School. Additionally, his leadership roles on boards such as the Community and Water Sanitation and the National Lands Commission underscored his dedication to advancing education and infrastructure throughout the region.Nana Asor Nkrawiri II's legacy continues to inspire generations, epitomizing the transformative power of leadership grounded in service and dedication to community development.
