Ho Technical University

Ho Technical University, formerly Ho Polytechnic, is a public tertiary institution in the Volta Region of Ghana. The Polytechnic started in 1968 as a technical institute with the primary goal of providing pre-technical education.

Transition and Legal Recognition

The pivotal year of 1993 marked a significant transition for the institution as it gained legal recognition under Polytechnic Law 321, subsequently amended by Act 745. This legal framework solidified its status as a tertiary institution with defined objectives and functions. The enactment of Act 745 in September 2007 further cemented its institutional framework, laying the groundwork for its continued growth and development.
