Ahenkorah went to Abuakwa State College and Tema Secondary School. In 2013, he graduated from the Regional Maritime University, Nungua Accra/University of Ghana Business School, with a Master of Arts in Ports and Shipping Administration.
2004
He served as a sales executive at Jospong Consortium. Between 2007 and 2012, he served as J. A. Plant Pool Limited's manager director and Zoomlion Ghana Limited's marketing manager. Since 2005, he has taught at the Regional Maritime University. As of 2010, he has also taught at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). Carlos King Freight Services has been under his management since 1992.
2020
After he tested positive for COVID-19, disregarded health regulations, and went out to interact with party members, he was forced to resign from his position as Minister of State. He visited a registration center in 2020 while carrying a COVID-19 positive test result. He was supposed to be in self-isolation at the time. Occupy Ghana, a pressure group, sought his dismissal from the government as retaliation for this conduct. The president gave him until Friday to submit his resignation.

Throughout his political career, Ahenkorah has been an advocate for his constituency and has been involved in various initiatives aimed at improving the lives of the people in his area. He has also served on parliamentary committees, contributing to legislative processes and policy-making.
