Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, known as KODA, was a Ghanaian gospel singer, songwriter, record producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Takoradi.

 

Rise to Prominence in Gospel Music

KODA's talent and dedication propelled him to the forefront of the Ghanaian gospel music scene. He became known not only as a gifted singer and songwriter but also as a skilled record producer and multi-instrumentalist. His contributions to various musical groups, including the "Music Wing of   the legendary Ghanaian contemporary gospel group, "Da Project." Together, they produced the acclaimed album "Awurade Ei," which garnered widespread recognition for its soul-stirring tracks such as "Awurade Ei" ("Se Woma Wonsa Soa"), "Tumi," and "Onyame Ye D'awase."

Musical Legacy and Collaborations

Throughout his career, KODA collaborated with numerous gospel artists, both within and outside Ghana. His production work on albums such as Nii Okai's "Moko Be" and "Gye W'ayeyi" further solidified his reputation as a sought-after producer in the gospel music industry. From Pastor Joseph Gyebi to Diana Hamilton, KODA's influence extended far and wide, enriching the genre with his unique blend of talent and passion.

 

Personal Life and Legacy

Beyond his musical achievements, KODA was a devoted husband to his wife, Ewurama Dua Anto, who shared his passion for singing. Together, they raised three children, fostering a family rooted in love and faith. Tragically, KODA's life was cut short on April 21, 2024, at the age of 45, following a brief illness. His untimely passing left a void in the hearts of many, but his music and legacy continue to inspire and uplift countless listeners around the world. Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, known to the world as KODA, may have departed this life, but his spirit lives on through the timeless melodies and heartfelt lyrics he left behind.
