Sam Jonah
Samuel Esson Jonah is a Ghanaian businessman and the current chancellor of the University of Cape Coast. He is the executive chairman of Jonah Capital, an equity fund based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Jonah was previously president of AngloGold Ashanti and shared the strategic leadership of the company with its CEO, Bobby Godsell

Sam Jonah, a Fante Royal, was born in Obuasi. He attended Adisadel College for his high-school education, and later obtained an Associateship in Mining Engineering from the Camborne School of Mines. He further pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Mine management at the Imperial College of Science and Technology.

Jonah's career spans his rise from joining Ashanti Goldfields Corporation to becoming its CEO and transforming it into a mining multinational, followed by his role as a non-executive director of Vodafone, his membership in the National Academy of Engineering, his current position as the chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, and his involvement in numerous boards and advisory councils, including those of influential figures and institutions like the UN Secretary General's Global Compact and the London Business School.
