Opuni was accused of participating in several corruption-related offenses, including costing Ghana money.

He was charged with 27 counts of causing the state to suffer financial loss. Money laundering, breaking procurement regulations, and deceiving under false pretenses are some of the accusations.According to the state, it has been proven that Seidu Agongo sent 25,000 cedes into Stephen Kwabena Opuni's account in order to sway the awarding of contracts.
