Asonaba Kwaku Darko popularly known as Super OD was a Ghanaian comic actor and a performer who featured in the popular Akan drama TV series, Osofo Dadzie and movies like 'Diabolo'.

Native Authority police officer

At Agona Swedru, he was hired in 1958 as a Native Authority police officer, or "Ahenfie Police" informally. However, the authority's police system was dismantled a year later. Super O.D. said that the former interior minister, Mr. Krobo Edusei, had instructed him and his colleagues to apply to join the Ghana Police if they so desired.

Taxi driver

O.D. obtained a driver's license and applied to the Ghana Police. After training, he failed due to a bribe of three pounds. Pressured to pursue commercial driving, he was hired by the Accra City Council to operate the "Ponko Abodam" taxi.

Concert party

After being fired from his job, he moved to Labadi with a friend. He secured a job as a laborer at the Cantonment Police Station. He performed at Appiah Agyekum's Concert Party, starting his career as a concert party actor. His mother taught him clever jokes, which gained popularity.

Movie Career

Super O.D. gained fame through Ghanaian video films and film acting, playing in Double Cross, Fatal Decision, and Crossfire. He now hosts one-man comedy shows in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Canada, London, Washington DC, and New York.
