Winnifred Ntumi

Winnifred Ntumi, a Ghanaian weightlifter, competes in the 45 kg category, proudly representing Ghana in various international competitions. Her participation includes the World Championships and recent events such as the 2018 Africa Youth Championship, the 2019 Africa Weightlifting Championship in Egypt, and the 2019 Africa Games in Morocco.

Global Debut

Winnifred enters the international stage, participating in the 2018 Africa Youth Championship and the 2019 Africa Weightlifting Championship and Africa Games in Morocco.

Historic Bronze

In 2019, she secures a significant milestone, winning a bronze medal at the 2019 African Weightlifting Championship in the 49 kg category, becoming the first Ghanaian to achieve this feat.

Prior to her historic win, Winnifred earns recognition at the 2018 Africa Youth Championship with a bronze in the women's 48 kg category in Egypt.

At the 2019 Africa Games in Morocco, Winnifred makes history by clinching three bronze medals in the women's 45 kg category, marking Ghana's first-ever success in continental weightlifting competitions.

Global Recognition

The weightlifting sensation competes in the women's 49 kg event at the 2021 World Weightlifting Championships, securing a bronze medal, showcasing her prowess on the global stage.

In 2022, Winnifred achieves a commendable 9th place in the women's 49 kg event at the Commonwealth Games.

At the 13th All African Games in Accra, Ghana, she clinches historic gold in the women's 45 kg and two silver medals in the women's 49 kg snatch event, marking her nation's inaugural medals in the competition.
